email-marketing4If you are into any business, be it offline or online, there’s no argument that your most precious assets are your customers. No customers, no sales, no profit. However, one secret that some, if not most business owners or marketers don’t pay attention to is keeping a database of their customers.

In email marketing, this is better known as an opt-in list. Essentially, you collect your customers’ name and email address so that you can communicate and follow up with them at later dates.

Here are 5 reasons why you need email marketing in your business:

1. Email marketing is one of the ways that you can use to build a strong relationship with your customers. This is built upon an saying that people buy from people they know, like, and trust. They give more weight to recommendations from people they trust as compared to a highly clever sales page.

2. You can easily inform a large group of customers of your new products and services through a single email. With a single click of a button, you can also inform your customers if you have a sale and you want them to get the information first hand.

3. Many marketers have said that the fortune is in the follow up and that’s absolutely true. According to some tests conducted by known marketers, it takes at least 7 exposures before someone buys from you. With that, your email series should at least have 7 or more follow up messages. The more the better.

4. As long as provide good contents and good offers to your list, it will not be difficult for you to keep them. I heard a saying that “buyers are buyers” and certainly, you want to take good care of them by staying in touch and checking up on them once in a while.

5. Having a massive email list also allows you to conduct your own market research. My mentor Joel Christopher was able to create his coaching program by simply asking a simple question to his email list about their most pressing problem as an internet marketer.

If you are keen enough, you will notice that I don’t have a lead capture form yet. This is still in the works and will be up soon.

On my next post, I will introduce you to a simple yet revolutionary method of building your opt-in list even with zero coding knowledge and you can even do it on websites that you don’t own, say Facebook. How’s that for an email marketing beginner? Pros can also benefit from it too!
